COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

Following are information and updates on COVID-19 (also commonly known as the “Coronavirus”), specifically as it relates to the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC).

Information updated: June 10, 2020

We continue to work closely with local officials and public health officials to follow all recommendations and best practices regarding the COVID-19. At the Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC), our first priority is always the health and safety of our guests and team members.

The MCC is following the guidelines set by the Governor of Minnesota, the Mayor of Minneapolis and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). At this time, events are restricted at the MCC through June 30, 2020. We will continue to seek guidance from the MDH on changes to this policy or on the end date.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s Stay Safe Plan provides a set of phases for the safe reopening in a number of settings. Minnesota is currently in Phase III. Groups of up to 250 people with social distancing in place are currently allowed to meet.

We are following the recommendations of health and medical experts in requiring visitors and staff to wear a manufactured or homemade cloth face covering when in the building. In addition, it is important for our team members and guests to closely follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on ways to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.

To assist event planners in advance of holding their event, the MCC has created social distancing floor plans that allow for attendees to remain six feet apart.

If you have health questions about COVID-19 while in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Department of Health is leading the state and city preparedness and information dissemination and offers a specific COVID-19 hotline: 651-201-3920 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time)
